About Us
"Community" become part of Fitness First’s global "mission and values" vision in November 2008. In Jan 2009, Fitness First Singapore’s inaugural "Community" team was set up to make corporate social responsibility (CSR) a reality for the company. The team consists of volunteers who truly believe in being involved in community outreach and giving back to those who are less fortunate than themselves!

Fitness First has long been an active supporter of charitable causes through corporate sponsorship, but "Community" now has a new face and work has already begun…

"That Day Is Today"
How better to get the message across than via a rock fest?! A CD single "That Day Is Today" was created to launch “Community” to Fitness First Singapore employees. Band members hailed from all corners of the company and each brought to the table their talents and a bouquet of perseverance: Ramdzan, Fandi and Ernest from Fusionopolis, Lincoln from Capital Tower, Eddy from OUB Centre, Tommy Yau (National Fitness Manager) and Sarah See (Marketing Manager). The Fitness First Community song "That Day Is Today" was first performed LIVE to an audience on 18th April 2009 at the Fitness First Singapore annual Staff Party at The Arena in Clarke Quay.

This song is a rallying call to everyone – members and staff alike - to come together and make a difference to the world we live in. You can listen to the track on our Facebook page (details below)!

Group X – rocking worlds
From March – April 2009, a Fitness First Group X team (Andrew Tierney, Naila, Vivi, Cindy, Ben and Anna) conducted a 6 week dance workshop organized by Students Care Service for a group of teenagers. Fitness First dance gurus understand that dance isn’t just an art form but a positive outlet for negative energies and influences. Our Group X team will continue to use their talent and experience to engage youth meaningfully through Students Care Service and other charitable groups.

Run For A Cause
On April 3rd 2009, Fitness First employees and members came together for a 3km run round the Esplanade in aid of two employees and their families in need. This was in support of Saidah (Customer Service Officer) and Hamzah (Fitness Instructor) from OUB Centre. Saidah was struggling against lupus (she had also lost her father to TTP which is related to lupus) while Hamzah had succumbed to a serious heart and lung viral infection. Sadly Saidah also passed on in June 2009. We remember them as generous and kind individuals and their leaving at a tender age (Saidah was 22 and Hamzah 24) gives us further inspiration to do more with our lives.

A total of $9,764 was raised from the run with $4,882 going to each of their families.
