47th National Bodybuilding Championship, May 2009
Congratulations to Fitness First trainers and members who did us proud at the National Bodybuilding Championships in May 2009. Participants included a 54 year old Fitness First member who reminds us that age is really just a figure.
We take our hats off to all participants. Talk to any of our bodybuilders and they will tell you tales of relentless fitness regimes and sacrifices that include strict diets – imagine meals consisting of just chicken breast with no salt/seasoning! We let them tell you their stories:
Ismail – “I started lifting weights when I was 15 but was never serious about it until I stepped into the fitness industry. I decided to challenge myself when I realized that bodybuilding is a sport that requires a lot of discipline. This year, before preparations for the competition, I weighed 105kg with 22% of bodyfat. By competition day, I weighed 87kg and was down to a body fat ratio of 4%! I believe that anything is possible if you put your mind to it!”
Jim Ong – “How did I make it? I kept on course and never forgot the basics of any successful fitness program: Professional advice, determination, discipline, passion, setting goals, plan & prepare, follow through, nutrition and sufficient rest/recovery. Just think “I-M-Possible” instead of “Impossible!” |
